Paddleathon 2011 Wrap-Up
Thanks to your efforts our eleventh annual Paddleathon went off without a hitch last Saturday, May 7. It was our biggest paddle ever, more than doubling last year’s! With a beautiful day, perfect conditions and great community, 56 of us paddled from Wollongong to Thirroul, in the process raising our biggest total ever - a massive $10,000! Make sure to bring with you a paddle board if you can acquire one, all your collected money, a filled in rego form, food and water in a plastic bag to go on one of the boats, sunscreen and arms ready to paddle! There’s been quite a few people asking questions about the day. I’ll try to answer most of these here to avoid confusion for anyone:
1. Do I have to be a member of Christian Surfers to paddle?
Not at all, the paddle is open to all regardless of if you’ve even ever heard of Christian Surfers before. You will have to fill in a form to ‘become a member’ to be covered...
Forecast Looks Good!
We are on this Saturday! Forecast for the day is looking perfect with a nice little southerly swell to drive us along. Get out there and get those sponsors and join us on Saturday morning, 7am, in Wollongong Harbour. Yew!

Donate to the Paddleathon
If you’d like to donate towards the Paddleathon and don’t have anyone particular to sponsor, you can donate online through CSI at http://www.christiansurfers.net/Donation.aspx. All monies will go towards the sponsorship of 5 children for a year through Compassion Australia, with any extra being donated towards the continuing relief effort in Japan through CRASH.
